The ceramic pieces presented in this website are examples of the range of work that I have explored since completing my M.A in Ceramics at Wolverhampton University ten years ago. All of the work is based on my ongoing interest in the figure which began twenty five years ago after time spent working with the slip decorator John Pollex.
My ceramic work is influenced by themes that include figurative movement, clothing, and proportion, how people relate to one another, their body language, parts of areas of the body and more recently the male figures which were made based on the theme of looking upwards towards the sky. All of the figures are made in groups or series; I like them to relate well to one another when they are on exhibition.
During the last few years I have spent time teaching ceramics at a variety of different levels while continuing to make and develop my work from my workshop in an old print works in Stourbridge which is shared with other artists and makers. My work is usually exhibited and sold through galleries and private sales.
